Bicycle Trainers

Bike Trainers make it possible to build bicycle skills and power very efficiently in a highly controlled environment, without the unavoidable interruptions of outdoor riding. For instance, in hill training, instead of being limited to whatever hills are around your home, you can simulate any size and steepness.

Trainers require better technique than stationary bicycles, and they provide a more realistic-feeling ride. The geometry and resulting body position of a stationary bicycle may be significantly different from a racing bike; of course, if you uses the racing bike itself in an indoor trainer, the body position is nearly identical.

My Favourite Indoor Bike Trainer

Personally, I rate the 1upUSA CPR A-2000 All-Aluminum Trainer. It's very well-built and everything is machined to very precise specs and it's as tight and sturdy as the day I got it. I can stand on the pedals, do intervals, tempo rides and everything else. It's also quiet and clean. Feels like taking a real ride, minus the wind and the cars and the bugs in my teeth. Worth every penny!
