I’m not a beginner, but an intermediate rider, I think. Why do you say Record is superior to Dura Ace. I’m just curious. I know campy mirage doesn’t compare with Record, but the shifters are the same and I used Mirage. I prefer Shimano over Campy, mainly because of the hoods. I see Team High Road and Discovery (now defunct) use Shimano. I guess it’s a matter of preference. The 2009 Campy records look awesome, though. But please tell me why Campy Records. Just trying to gain knowledge.

If you’re a beginner, campy record is the way to go if you’re expert. It’s in a class of it’s own, superior to Dura-Ace.

Full shimano powertrain is the way to go.
