you can, but some pavements where i live, have cracks large enough to get your wheels stuck in, which will throw you off your bike.

it shouldn’t take you an hour or 2 to go to school ! To be honest, i wouldn’t buy a Carrera road bike, Get a specialized, or a treck, stay clear of Halfords all together, if you are only riding to and from school then a hybrid is best, since it gives you speed but can go on pavements, don’t take your road bike onto pavements, or at least, be very careful, also, you should think, if you take a nice roadbike to school, will it get nicked, or vandalised.

Should i buy a Carrera Road bike for going to anf from school? (total distance around 3-4 miles there and back), But will occasionally going on the pavement hurt the bike?
Another thing, will i not look stupid in my school uniform leaning over my bike when going to school? i mean it would be pretty cool because it would be getting there fast, but i dont often see those bikes on the road.
Is the riding position comfortable? it looks like a back killer sitting like that for an hour or 2 ! Thanks

I’ve been cycling for only two months now. The Trek 1.2 is a great, affordable entry-level road bike. It’s one of the few bikes under $1,000 that comes w/ a carbon fork. Great stuff

I bought a “NEW” 2005 Fuji Roubaix Pro two springs ago for 850 and threw several FSA components on bringing my total investment to around 2,000 = Happy Camper w/a nice ride!!

some are better than others, but they should be fine for most recreational or transportational riders. as long as the bike fits you well, it will likely function properly. once you start wanting more performance, a newer bike with more technology may become attractive, but shouldn’t be necessary for normal riding.
